How LetterLeaf organizes your inbox

Categories, sentiment, and the two smart views that tell you what needs you.

Every email gets read once

When a new email arrives, LetterLeaf reads it and adds three things: a category from your setup, a sentiment, and a judgement on whether it needs action or expects a reply. This happens automatically and doesn’t use your AI credits.

What you see in the list

  • Category chip: the colored label next to the sender. Click a category chip above the list to show only that category, or All to clear the filter.

  • Sentiment face: green means the sender is happy, orange is neutral, red means frustrated or angry. Spot an unhappy customer before you open the thread.

  • Search email at the top of the list searches your whole inbox.

Smart views

Two views in the sidebar cut through everything else:

  • Requires Attention: emails where something is expected from you, with a deadline or a decision.

  • Needs a Reply: emails where a real person is waiting for a written answer. When you reply, the email drops out of this view on its own.

Open an email in either view and click Handled to clear it without replying, for example when you dealt with it by phone.

Sent folders

Categories and sentiment are only shown for incoming mail. Your Sent folder looks like it always did.
